The basics...
I have lived in Simi Valley for almost my entire life. I attended Vista Elementary, Hillside Middle School, and Royal High School. As the oldest of three, leadership and organizational skills have always been second nature to me. My brother, Lucas, and my sister, Maddy, would be the first to tell you about all the crazy productions their bossy older sister made them do as kids. My parents, Marybeth and Matt, are two of the most hardworking, selfless, and supportive parents around. The three of us Christman kids are the adults we are today solely because of the two of them. I am very close with my family, and excited to watch it grow! I now have an awesome brother-in-law, Ryan, and the sweetest sister-in-law, Nancy.
In 2018, my life forever changed as I began the best adventure of my life when I married my husband, Hunter Horn, on December 21, 2018. The adventure continued when we welcomed our absolutely incredible son, Jacob James Mathew Horn, on November 5, 2019. On January 5, 2021, we welcome another amazing little guy, Justin Thomas Howard Horn (known as JT). Although my new name is Jennifer Horn, every aspect of my life continues to be nothing short of a "Jen Christman Production..." I just now have a built-in team! |

School...
After my 4 years as a Highlander, I attended California State University Channel Islands for one year and then decided to transfer to California Lutheran University, where I earned my B.A. in Liberal Arts in May, 2008. I received my mathematics teaching credential in May, 2009, and was very blessed to be offered a teaching position in such a difficult time in education. Teaching was always my dream job, and I could not be happier to have the opportunity to work with the students of Simi Valley.
Dance...
My dancing career began at the age of 3. I have trained at both Garri Dance Studio in Burbank under Ms. Peggy Garri, and Swayze’s Dancers Studio, under the direction of Ms. Patsy Swayze. For almost 20 years, I studied classical ballet, American jazz, tap, and much more under the strict artistic direction of Ms. Swayze. I was lucky enough to assist Ms. Swayze in the master classes she taught during National Tap Dance weekends in Dallas, Texas. At age 16, I was offered the opportunity to begin teaching classes at Swayze's studio. Throughout my years in college, I worked at Royal High School as a cheerleading coach, as well as the choreography director in the drama department, for 4 years. I worked on stage shows such as “Footloose,” “42nd Street,” “The Wiz,” and “High School Musical.” I started teaching at Gotta Dance Academy in Simi Valley in 2008, teaching classes and competition teams in all styles. Throughout my time at Gotta Dance, I have won national titles, technical excellence awards, and choreographer of the year awards. In 2015, I brought dance to Simi Valley High School, starting the first ever SVHS Dance Team. I am extremely passionate about my GDA and SVHS families, and devote much of my life to the parents and students at both the studio and the school.
